USB network card - hotplugging

After buying a usb wifi dongle I noticed this strange behavior:
If I plug it after the system is booted, the network preflet doesn’t show the network card. If I boot with the dongle inserted, the network card shows up in network preflet, but if I unplug the usb card, the network preflet still lists it.

this is after unpluggin:

Is this intended?

Intended - probably not.
But it’s known that it currently works like that, hotplugging network adapters isn’t supported yet.

It works perfectly fine for me wxth the usb_rndis driver for example, I can plug it in after starting the machine?

It’s directly in the opening post of the announcement for USB Wifi support, see here: Support for Realtek USB WiFi adapters now in nightlies
If it has changed since then, I must have missed something.

Ok, there was a bit of misunderstanding, your comment sounded like it was for all network adapters in general, but it is only for the ones using the BSD compatibility layers. It works fine for native drivers like usb_rndis.
