Online storage for HAIKU?

Ok so we all know that Haiku’s main web browser Webpositive does not suport HTML5, youtube, or Google Drive.

Ok so I know you can go to http://en.savefrom.net/ to download some videos from youtube, but so far I have not found one that lets haiku users upload to youtube. I have noticed that there is not a dropbox client yet ether and google drive just gives error messages like most of the servers. So do you guys no any sites that work with webpositive for video, images, and storage that work on Haiku?

As you know, I’m working on improving WebPositive, and hopefully I’ll get these services working soon.

To donwload Youtube videos, you can also use UberTuber (get it at http://haikuware.com). This is maybe a bit faster than these websites.

Part of my work is also dedicated to improving the “Service Kit”. This is an API set to make it very easy to work with HTTP/HTTPS and soon other protocols like FTP. This can be used by Haiku applications such as a dropbox client.

I just tried Google Drive in my WIP browser, and there are no timeout errors anymore. The rendering of spreadsheets is a bit broken, however.
Youtube upload still doesn’t work, I’ll add that to my TODO list. Thanks for the information.

I actually started on a library to do DropBox support ages ago… might have to dig that out and get it going again sometime!

Yet google drive does not allow you to upload and just gives me a “can not connect to server” error and ocassionly it freezes.I have tried Ubertuber and it does not work and I gave up on that as none of the other alternatives boot let alone work. Most give me some dependacy error or just don’t work. Greentube sucks the worst and I had to uninstall it as it just keep freeze up my computer. It would not be that bad if some one would have just ported over minitube. By the way is there any betas of the version of Webpositive that we can try out yet? I know that you only have so much time to do what needs to be done.

It’s a bit difficult for me to provide betas because I keep making changes to Haiku itself. You can try this one: http://pulkomandy.tk/drop/HaikuWebKit_20131015.zip

It will only work if you happen to run just the right revision of Haiku, that is, a nightly from yesterday (16 of october). Alpha 4 is too old, and I made some incompatible changes again today.

Now that it works for the most part, I’ll start to make it work with the WebPositive code and pout everything in the nightlies, this will be simpler for everyone, but it is better if I get the API somewhat stable first, which is what I’m doing this week.
