Also: Likely the reason Citadel looks so good is it dates back to being aimed as a BBS for the Amiga. :slight_smile: Ran one of those on my A1000 & A2000’s back in the last 80’s.
The “Floor/Room” layout remains fairly unique to BBS’s to this day but they removed the multi-BBS networks support in it a few years ago. Kind of miss that as my other BBS’s have QWK & FTN support…

The SSL certificate is also untrusted/self-signed.
Looks like @MarisaG is making some changes at the server.

I repurposed one of my other servers so we now have the enhanced abilities and local clamav scanning… If you tried to connect a few minutes ago I was in the process of migrating to the new hardware… I couldnt just do a in-place upgrade as the old server was hosted by Linode, and this new one is OVH. Much better stats for the money. Old one was 1core, 1gb ram, 25gb SSD. New one is 4 core, 4gb ram, 80gb SSD…

I was migrating the server to new enhanced hardware. Are you able to get in now? The old server still exists so I can always try the migration again if needed…

Yep! Once you have logged in and created the account… If you registered with the username “foo” your email address will be “foo@haikumail.online”.

Because I didn’t care to work on the upstairs toilet and it seems early to eat lunch, I spent some time instead trying to figure out what this was about.

As best as I can make out, this discussion occurred ca. 2018 in the “Politics, Propagand, Paranoia” forum on a bulletin board “UNCENSORED!”, which runs on Citadel software and hosts a Citadel support forum. To the extent this reflects on “them” - they opened up an online forum to unmoderated discussion of politics, and the result is naturally something you don’t want to walk through without tall rubber boots. The quote regarding social justice warriors reflects a disregard for political correctness that I assume is pervasive in their forums, but it looked to me as though there is some attempt to confine political discussion to that politics forum.

And then there’s the Citadel support forum, where they talk about the forum software.
