Is this compatible with beeing a non-profit? I mean “some guy” donating excess to a non-profit seems a bit different than a non-profit ordering a product to be sold at a profit?
U.S. non-profits are allowed to engage in commercial activities as long as they are in line with the organization’s purpose and do not make up more than some percentage of the organization’s income, so this kind of thing should be fine.
(Federal rules are complicated and details vary between states; obviously the company should only do stuff after consulting their lawyer.

Seeing as the “fancy” version seems to be winning I would like 10 disks.
EDIT: I would much prefer a 64bit version though, while 32bit is more compatible It doesn’t have a modern webkit, which is a major dealbreaker. (though a DVD that can do both would be awesome too)

Not yet. I need to design the packaging and order the production batch first. I will post work in progress images of the packaging, and an announcement when I’m ready to receive orders (or if we make this go through Haiku inc).
Some cases allow a packager to put 2 optical discs in a jacket (cardboard or plastic) as well as a booklet (i.e. printed Haiku welcome booklet) - and/or a USB drive. Users can get both x86 and x86-64 discs. Maybe even RISCV…

I want to order 10 DVDs.
Having both a 32bit and 64bit DVD in one box would be nice,but if that’s not possible,I’d prefer the 64bit version as there’s more modern software available for it (modern WebKit,the Firefox-based browsers,…).
Running BeOS abandonware may be nice for nostalgia,but I don’t have a real use-case for it.

Duplicaprint does offer a 2-DVD option

It brings the cost to 3€ per set (plus shipping, so 7 to 8€ total), but then everyone is happy, we can have both the 32 and 64 bit versions in the same box.

If shipping to Japan is available, I would like to order 10 pieces (64 bit).
Including both builds on the same DVD would surely be more economical

I can’t burn the two ISO images on the same DVD and hope that it will work… (OK, I guess it would be possible with a double sided DVD, but I don’t know anyone who is pressing those)
It seems like a good idea but will need changes to the build system. So, maybe for the next beta if someone is interested in doing that.

There are still about 500 bugs in the R1 roadmap. That number is decreasing, but quite slowly.
I made a table to track it because Tracker does not allow to see an history of this.
I would rather see yearly beta releases while we work on all that, and not “no releases for 6 years until we get all this done” as happened for beta 1.
If you think this is unrealistic, please have a look at the ticket list and add comments to the tickets you think are unimportant and should be moved out of the R1 milestone (to R1.1 or unscheduled).

No, but you could construct a custom ISO image, with both the 32- and 64-bit partitions, BootMan to select them in BIOS mode, and one EFI partition?

As I wrote, seems like a good idea for beta7 or whatever the next release is. For now I’ll use the official images as they were published. And it makes for a nice 2-DVD set, which I think is a good thing. The cost increase isn’t that high per unit for that, as really most of the cost is printing, packaging and shipping. Bare DVDs are quite cheap.
