I think Haiku looks very good right now. It maybe good to start looking and thinking towards moving to R1 after Beta 4 so this doesn’t take another 10+ years.
For me, I would really like to see more categories added in. I don’t like having all the programs dumped under Applications. Good to figure this out for next Beta or first RC (Release Candidate). Also, updating Webpositive to WebKit2 would be a good idea too. A faster, updated Webpositive would be good to have. Then developers can focus on bug fixing and code optimizing for RC.
I hope the following happens otherwise Haiku may stay in development forever:
Beta 5: Categories and maybe an updated Webpositive. And anything else?
RC: Bug fixing and code optimizing only. No more adding in new features.
R1: Haiku’s Final Release.
The non-native browsers work on Haiku but they either don’t look proper, crash, work worse or use lots of RAM. An updated and fast Webpositive browser for R1 would be very nice to have if time allows and developers willing to work on Webpositive.
