• The llvm project is over a GB in size
• Building the clang-format tool takes some time

It doesn’t look like a good idea to clone llvm project and build it everytime the pipeline is triggered maybe we can provide prebuilt clang-format hosted somewhere.

Doesn’t the current build pipeline face a similar problem? It needs the toolchain and (if I’m not wrong) uses a container with it that is generated in another pipeline when there are changes in the toolchain repo.

That’s how you would normally do it, yes. Have a pre-built Docker container somewhere and use that to run the builds inside it. We can update the container when there is a new release of haiku-format.
