@humdinger @daniel0366 It has been a long time.And I am back with a question.As for now we have Chinese traditional.But the translation in HongKong and Taiwan have different way that it need to be seperated.I want to know that if there is a way to move the current Chinese traditional translation to Chinese traditional(HK) and then fix the differences?

To be clear, I don’t know Chinese, but as far as I can tell the 5th entry is traditional Chinese for Taiwan and the last one is traditional Chinese for Hong Kong.
(Kind of weird how the last two entries specify “characters” (ĺ—) while the others don’t)
As far as fixing inconsistencies goes, I guess the changes needed can be done directly on Pootle by those that know the language.
Yes you are right.And now,”zh_hant” equal to the 5th one,which is nearly all translated by me.
And now we need the last one be translated,it has 80% same as zh_hant but with some differences.

I know that language,but if all is done from zero that is waste of time.If it is possible,we can just export the zh_hanst and import it to the “hk“ one,than make some replacement.That is quite simple work.
If I understand correctly, you want to copy
- zh_Hans to zh_Hans_HK and
- zh_Hant to zh_Hant_HK
directly on the Pootle server.

No,there is no zh_Hans_HK exite.
zh_Hans use in China(mainland) and Singapol
zh_Hant use in Macau,HongKong and Taiwan
As the previous story,I have no interest in zh_Hans anymore.Now we just discuss zh_Hant.
As for now,the most user of zh_Hant should be Taiwan,it is fading in HongKong and Macau.
So I suggest to build something like:
zh_Hant_MAC
zh_Hant_HK
And copy the zh_hant to these twos
Then more volentier will work on their difference parts.
And,as my opinion,the “zh_Hans_HK“ or “zh_Hans_Mac“ which is the 2nd and 3rd is useless.You can leave them there but I think no one will use them,even translate them.
I think we can wait here a month for more discussion.Then we can make the decision.
May I know ratio of Hongkonger to Taiwanese on this forum?
Also, Hong Kong and Macau traditional Chinese can be combined.

I suggest to separate,or at least let it stay empty at these stage?I am not care about Macau also,these problem rise for me is just for I edited “directory“ yesterday,and found it call “资料夹“ at TW and “目录” at HK.I think it is time to separate them.
I suggest you to maintain the HK version and me TW.
Arriving at a decision is most essential, of course. But still, until a Pootle admin confirms it is, I don’t know if an existing translation can be copied as starting point for another language.
That is a big question. I remember asked you on last year and you said no.

Oh,I found the Australia Canada and UK english is still in slow translation.It looks like they don’t think about export/import.
What is the relationship between the standard zh translation and the zh_HK translation? Is the latter a completely new language, or would it only change some words/sentences and is it therefore rather an adjustment?
zh_HK is only different from zh_TW in terms of wordings. Minor difference exist in some characters which can be neglected.
In computer terminology, the word “directory” (the standard English term for a folder in a file system) is translated differently in Taiwan and Hong Kong due to regional differences in Chinese:
