BeSly Project

Hello all,

i am a admin of the BeSly http://www.besly.de a knowledge base for BeOS, Haiku and ZETA.

At the beginning we translate Read Me´s and Documentations from English to German. Past some times we go over to write our own tutorials because it is better do explain things we understand then translate something we don’t understand.

Some people like Begasus of the Belgium user group add some translations of our tutorials in her home language. We have add them into our website and starts to do our own translations (in English).

So the BeSly is not only a “German” Knowledge Base. We are searching for People who have fun to translate our Tutorials or create there own Tutorials for our project. Also we need some people who can check our translations.

Past the death of Zeta we want to get more Tutorials for Haiku, we already done some of them but we want to do more.

It will be funny to get more help of the community for our project. Please help us to make BeSly bigger and better .

For some time, the besly has its own forum, so it is easier to comment on posts and send us your tips and tricks. In addition, we also note updates of our programs, which we have published on our repository server.

You can start with: http://besly.de/menu/search/archiv/dev/haiku-trac_eng.html for example

Try this

Thank you for the translation. i have in the moment some problems to make it visible on our website, because the kyrillish font does not displayed here. i need to check how ot do this. But i save the trnaltion into a word file.

I’ve did it as ready-to-use HTML so you can just replace needed block on page.

What kind of problems with Cyrillic you have? I’ve tried to change smth using devtools — all working. Use UTF8 everywhere, that makes life easier.

I add your translation on our database: http://besly.de/index.html?/menu/search/archiv/dev/haiku-trac_ru.html. My windows editors destroy every Cyrillic witten fonts, so i use my WebConcept Creator on Haiku :-). An russian menu will be add next time.

Yeah, editors on Windows like to save text in ANSI, so it damages Cyrillic text on systems, where lang for non-Unicode isn’t set to Russian.

In which format you need menu translation for site? And do I need to translate all menu tree or just root and available on Russian nodes?

I only need the menu name for the tutorial you translate, we do not add empty menu parts

The folder «Development» will turn into «Разработка», while article name is «Haiku - Отчёты об ошибках».

Lorglas add a russian menu with the menu «Разработка» and your translated tutorial. We are ready for more

You can write here or in PM which articles must be translated first.

for example:

There is so much to translate. I do not know what is the most important. But I think it only makes sense to translate guides to the topic haiku

First, please replace «разработка» with «Разработка», that makes sense.
Second, here’s Ru version of http://besly.de/menu/search/archiv/misc/beslysat_eng.htmlhttp://pastebin.com/p4NB1bvh

I’m sorry, I not as fast as can be but only because another tasks and trying to do good translation, not word-by-word, but with meaning.

Also, here’s a correct Russian flag image — https://yadi.sk/d/xkzyl2HR37NK9Q
(press «Download»/«Скачать» button on the right).
It done as vector image (for html it makes no sense, all remains the same), which you can resize (via html tags or css) how you want without any troubles.

If you need another flags to be remade as vector for clear look — ask me.

Thak you for the second tutorial. Is системные инструменты the right name for System Tools? I have changed the menu name of development.

No stress, you have as much time as you like. Just like you should only translate what you consider useful. It is a voluntary service of your side and therefore it is also in your speed and scope.
