this is more similar to the original one, with the help of a tracer

Thanks to @3dEyes for submitting a Haiku-style icon for SRB2:

The PR adding it to the recipe has already been merged!

Just downloaded it - the port is awesome - very performant on my Core 2 Duo. Should be a “featured” game in the HaikuDepot!

Very nice! What tracer did you use?

I used Inkscape to get main shapes, but this method requires to clean paths manually in order to fit the resulting compressed icon into 1kB, generally every tracer adds a lot of junk

Would be cool to have a video of this process from the very beginning to rded export.

But we do not have Inkscape yet for Haiku!

Updated Gerbera to the latest release, should be OK now

Inkscape uses gtkmm (C++ wrapper for GTK+), so it’s quite unlikely that it will be ported to Haiku anytime soon. But I guess he used another operating system, which some of us do from time to time

sorry, but I cannot find a 32bit version on Haiku 32bit hrev: 55614 on HaikuDepot or pkgman

Yep, since the package is 64-bit only for now.

It’s always a good idea to add the Icon-O-Matic file (saved via “Save as…”, not “Export as…”) alongside the .rdef at the haikuports recipes. Makes improving anicon or using it as basis for another easier.

The source IOM file is present, though.

Appologies, I totally missed that added binary at the PR and only saw the rdef…

Gerbera is running OK it seems, I can connect to it over the network with Firefox (on Ubuntu) without login, on Haiku I can’t seem to login nor click on any of the items on the frontpage with Web+ and Otter …

It’s a tedious and long process, basically it can be explained better with a time-lapse video than with tutorial; after you have obtained your SVG you need to remove any unnecessary extra points, simplify the path, align anchor and control points to the grid, and when it’s possible reuse shapes using transformations, all of this is required to have a small file
