Hey community members, I’ve been troubleshooting the preinstalled firmware modules for my intel WIFI chipset (Wireless 3160) which should be supported based on this source. I’m on a Lenovo E450 with Haiku beta5 installed via UEFI. Drivers and firmware modules exist but cannot be properly initialized upon boot (chunk 0 of 3 in /var/log/syslog), since from listdev it shows the WIFI drivers are reserved. The only evidence I can confirm is that the boot loader reached its limit. It may be related to another issue which is the brightness control.
By looking through sources online, I suspect this to be a UEFI-specific bug. Nevertheless, any suggestions or further questions are appreciated.
Extra: I tested a nightly version of Haiku on this laptop and another Lenovo T470.
