WI-FI issues!

Howdy again! So, I’m having issues with Wifi, as because it seems like system can’t see it and it only works if I’m connecting phone to use as a Wifi for laptop.

I’ve tried to install drivers in Terminal using script, no luck with that. Tried to take a look in Internet settings, nothing too (Only Ethernet port). I’ve searched few places and it seems like my laptop needs unsupported drivers that can work with Wifi, but I’m not sure yet. Has anyone ideas is it still possible to fix that or not?

Not sure what you mean by that. We don’t have any drivers you have to install later. It’s either included or it isn’t.

You’ve not said what your card is, without that info nobody can help you. Regardless if your card is unsupported you can open a ticket at https://dev.haiku-os.org

I would like to tell more info about system and devices but I have no idea what command is for that. Sorry. : (

Check the “Devices” application or use the command “listdev” in the terminal

Ok, one min.

You can paste this into the forum with a code block, no need to link to some third party site.

Anyhow, this would be the entry for your wifi card:

device Network controller [2|80|0]
vendor 10ec: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
device 8821: RTL8821AE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter

Ok, I see now!

So Haiku doesn’t support this device yet, am I right? Or I forgot something?

I heard something about nightly builds, maybe latest version of that has Drivers for RTL8821AE?

https://git.haiku-os.org/haiku/tree/3rdparty/korli/haiku-current.list

  • supported devices (pci and usb)

As I can see there’s no RTL8821AE… Sadly. : (
