I would like to identify the exact video software shown in BeOS demo video (from 13:48 to 16:05), which allows Scott Paterson mix two analog video signals, applying effects in real time and recording an uncompressed video format file… I already installed two PCI Bt878 cards on an old PC running BeOS 5 (both are properly recognized)…
Hello, shaka444! No, no, no… It is not “TV” software included in BeOS 5… Check carefully in the video, he is mixing and applying real time effects on the video inputs (you can not do that with “TV”) and also recording video in an uncompressed video file (you can not record video with “TV”). With TV, you only can view one video input at a time… No mixing, no effects, no recording… Thanks anyway for your reply…
It looks like R3 based on the Network Preferences panel, but there is no video capture soft included.
It could be the R4 Video Preferences panel, or TVDemo (screenshot from the BeOS tour website)
There’s also an app called “VideoRecorder” in /boot/optional/experimental
May have been a R4.5 thing. I can’t test it without a video capture card.
But here it is-
Due to vid quality, it’s difficult to read the exact name. Though, if you look at the Deskbar, it seems to be named TvDemo; there’s also an icon on the desktop with same name.
So, maybe an advanced prototype of TV app…
No, it is not… Roland Edirol DV7 is a video edition device developed by japanese corporation Roland, with x86 hardware inside, running BeOS. Check this post, where @lorezan shows how it looks inside and some screenshots: Roland DV-7
No, VideoRecorder is only for recording video from 1 video input… You can’t apply effects or mix in real time 2 different video inputs from 2 different PCI BT878/BT848 cards… VideoRecorder is not the software shown in BeOS demo video… Thanks anyway…
