Vermisse da eine Anleitung um Software zu installieren in Terminal mit pkgman
Kann man irgendwann auch machen. Im Moment möchte ich mich auf den Nutzer konzentrieren der keine Kenntnisse darin hat mit der Shell umzugehen.
Webpositive: Your browser cannot play this video…
so, to learn, I have to use anotherlaptop loaded with Linux / windows, watch those videoes and try it out on this Haiku laptop
Pl. see why webpositive cannot play these videoes
Is it possible that video playback in Webpositive is completely broken currently?
I just tried watching it over Invidious, which uses a pretty standard HTML5 <video>,plus you get no ads and no tracking, but that also doesn’t work.
Then I tried if I could play random stuff at https://ardmediathek.de or https://zdf.de and that also fails
Disabled in recent version -fix pending for now. You can use the alternative web browsers, Otter Browser and Gnome Web (Epiphany), to view Youtube videos.
It still used youtube servers for playback, so its not really tracking free… and I wouldnt call their frame standard.
Anyhow, yes. It is brokem and will stay that way untill someone implements video playback properly with the media kit.
You can route the playback through the Invidious server if the instance you use supports that.
The player has some additional Javascript controls, yes, but it wraps around a standard video element that directly uses the MP4 as source, with no HLS or DRM or something like that (except if you explicitely enable HLS in Invidious settings, but why would you?)
This is working? Cool
Qmplay2 not to forget!
Search and play Media!
Use GnomeWeb
It could be re-enabled by fixing whatever is missing in the current code (which ise BMediaFile/BMediaTrack and BSoundPlayer). Shouldn’t be too hard, but then the result is a freeze for a minute or so while the media is fully downloaded to RAM, which results in more complaints that Web+ is unusable (especially these days as there are autoplaying videos everywhere). So at least that should be fixed.
At least that part could be one of the “not too difficult” tasks in WebKit if someone wants to take up maintenance? And then there are other relatively easy things to do, such as implementing fullscreen video playing, and so on. But that will require different code again in WebKit2, so, not sure it’s worth the effort. It depends if someone decides to seriously work on WebKit2 soon or not.
Excellent work! Consider to use CreativeCommons licence

While making the video, I noticed that you cannot mount the Beta 4 64bit ISO file.
I started looking into the subtitle function on YouTube. Soon you should be able to watch my videos with English subtitles.
