A couple days ago, I installed the latest full version of Haiku onto an old laptop, and can’t boot it without safe mode. Whenever I try, it goes through all the icons at the beginning, but either gives me a black screen, a blue screen with an unmovable mouse, or (more recently, I swear this issue is getting worse somehow) never gets rid of the logo with all the symbols lit up. The logs mostly seem to end with
usb error hub 8: error updating port status
usb error control pipe 9: timeout waiting for queued request to complete
either as an infinite loop or just a couple cycles. I’ve gotten a few variations in the logs, but this seems to be the major issue. I’ve seen a couple threads and reports similar to this, but frankly, I’m new to this, and didn’t understand the most similar sounding one much.
Have you tried just with “fail-safe graphics mode”, without “safe mode”?
