I have external 80gb USB disk, HP scanner and photo, is will there support for this USB devices in R1 Haiku? is Haiku support NTFS partitions? thanks
USB drives (HD, sticks, card readers) and input devices (Mouse, Keyboard, Joystick?) will be supported by R1.
Most scanners should be supported by 3rd-party apps like BeSANE, but I don’t know about your particular model.
Michael Lotz got his PTP-based digital camera working, but I doubt that many cameras of that kind are supported. OTOH, most digital cameras are recognized as drives, so it’s very likely that your camera is supported.
I don’t know whether NTFS will be supported, but it’s probably important enough that someone will code a read-only version for R1. This is just a wild guess, though.
thanks for your answer… i have HP ScanJet3400C scanner … its planed implement to Haiku dynamic USB un/mounting? i mean similar from Windows, when i connect my usb device (photo) and i can import photos to Haiku. (i know thats BeOS view only this disks who are connect but default mount only a BeOS partitions)

Sorry for the late reply. Somehow this one slipped through.
You can already tell BeOS to mount every type of partition in Tracker’s settings. Probably this should be the default…

When it’s done.
I hate those answers, too. We really don’t know and we don’t want to promise something like "next year" (it’s always "next year" ) and then disappoint you.
Michael Phipps once said something like:
Every year I say it’s "next year". One year I’ll be right.
In that sense, I’d say: "next year"!
