Updating Haiku, refreshing repository failed!

And then when clicking update (as it does show the updated contents) says “Failed to download Package make file engine”

same as if you go through the Depot and hit update.

any ideas on how to fix this guys?

Thanks mate, awesome!!! appreciate the help/link.

Love your work.

Still can’t get this to work, after updating the links, and running pkupdate it fails everytime half way through. Kinda like it times out halfway through downloading one of the files.

Any further updates on this?

Hello Vanne. just to check, could share us a pic of the Repositories configuration?

If you’re on VirtualBox, make sure to configure its network correctly, see Troubleshooting of the VB guide.

gday guys, yeah not on a virtual box, stock Macbook , which works great.
un_spacyar, carbon copies of the before mention repo configs…

ill copy and paste as i did in my term.

pasted:

Nightly (unstable) builds

Add the recommended stock nightly repositories:

pkgman add https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org/haiku/master/$(getarch)/current

pkgman add https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org/haikuports/master/$(getarch)/current

Update to the latest packages:

pkgman update

Reboot once complete:
shutdown -r

end of pasting

Thanks in advance for trying to help. I guess if this keeps up, i could resort to installing a complete new Nightly…

Got it, updated to the new , just posted respositories and pkupdate worked a treat.

Sweet !

Hmm Net+ doesnt work any more.

Good day,
I’ve been having issues lately with the repos too, then I noticed the “breakdown” that happened, as noted by @kallisti5 and @waddlesplash

Today, the issue is still there:

    ~> pkgman update
    100% repochecksum-1 [247 bytes]
    Validating checksum for Haiku...done.
    100% repocache-2 [240 bytes]
    Checksum error:
    *** expected '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    *** <Error><Code>AccessDenied'
*** got 'a1785af10635362e5b30a6f9491b4b86d80efea40b33c2959c90c7c6b4dd1fe3'Refreshing repository "Haiku" failedValidating checksum for Haiku...: Bad data
    100% repochecksum-1 [64 bytes]
    Validating checksum for HaikuPorts...done.
    100% repochecksum-1 [65 bytes]
    Validating checksum for clasqm's x86_64 repo...done.
    Nothing to do.

So Haiku is still “down”?

~> pkgman list-repos

And can’t post images to this forum either…

About 2 months later, and this is still broken? Am I missing something? Here’s what it tells me, as reported before:

~/Desktop> pkgman add https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org/haiku/master/$(getarch)/current
Fetching repository info from https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org/haiku/master/x86_64/current
Activating repository config from https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org/haiku/master/x86_64/current
*** failed! : Bad data

I believe this error is related with the recent server outage. Some repositories are online, but the Haiku one is still off.

I switched back to R1/Beta1, and the repositories work fine.

r1beta1 Haiku repo not working here. Getting this error when trying to enable using Repositories:

Fetching repository info from https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org/haiku/r1beta1/x86_64/current ***Completed
Activating repository config from https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org/haiku/r1beta1/x86_64/current ***Failed: Bad data

HaikuPorts r1beta1 is enabled and working fine.

not all of the infrastructure is back up yet after the failed sever upgrade and rehosting… api.haiku-os.org also for instance is also broken.

yep, still down here too.

When I reinstalled R1/Beta1, it set the repositories to the correct ones for R1/Beta1. So, I am not going to run the commands to remove them and set them. They are already right. “pkgman add” doesn’t need to be run.

Thanks Isitongia,
Yes, you’re right. I thought it was a problem with my system.
Cheers

Both my systems , the update is still broken. Any idea how progress with this is going?

I’m sure everyone working on it would appreciate patience on this. Asking for updates frequently on the forum doesn’t make anything go any faster it just puts pressure on people that are doing this for fun and for free.

Part of the delay is making some changes to ensure service is more reliable in the future. So bear that in mind also. I’m sure there will be an update posted when it goes back up about the infrastructure changes and improvements.

Yeah I get that, standing by to do more testing when required.
