First of ever since I heard about Haiku’s speed in a forum and decided to give it a try I have been a big fan of it. So a big thank you and congrats for everyone involved in this project.
I have a few issues that prevent me from using Haiku regularly except for critical productivity work.
1)I am unable to login to Gmail, Yahoomail (i didn’t try any other) from WebPositive or BeZilla. Does everyone have this problem? Is there a workaround to this problem?
2)Does the browser have flash support? Can they play facebook games, play youtube videos? (I am asking this for my brother’s sake :P)
I have searched the forums and web for the whole of yesterday as best as I could, but couldn’t find a solution. So wondered whether I am the only one facing these issues and have come here for help. All of your help are much appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
I can’t say for Yahoomail, but the Gmail web interface does work, as long as you’re only using the “Simple HTML” interface. The browser has no Flash support. Facebook games are therefore not possible (I assume, not using facebook), but there are a few external apps for internet video playback at Haikuware. I shamelessly plug UberTuber…
Thank You humdinger for your reply. I checked wheather i could switch my mails to simple html’s but i am loosing my filter options etc. and yahoo has plainly no option for the classic view. Haiku would be my natural thing on the computer if only it had a latest browser. But i guess i will still use it to test it, afterall it is supefast to boot ;). But dear dev guys pls put a latest web browser on the priority list for next release, I am sure it will bring many more users and keep them using haiku daily, like myself.
