ThinkPad X270 touchpad

After all Haiku runs pretty fine on my “new” X270. But just the touchpad/trackpoint-combo is driving me crazy: Sometimes only the trackpoint is working, sometimes only the touchpad is working partly, sometimes both are working and on rare occations no one at all.

The mechanical switch behind the touchpad did’nt show any life at all and activating the virtual click/tap on the touchpad is totally hit and miss with a chance of 10% (Of course i’ve double checked the hardware with Linux.) Any idea how to trace and debug this problem?

I guess the first thing to check is if this is a PS/2 or USB or I2c combo. What does devices prefs say?

I have a “PS/2 Touchpad 1” and a “Trackpoint 1”.

Perhaps check the changes in this topic for information in that case.
The trackpoint and touchpad are on the same PS/2 Bus, so the OS needs to figure out which messages are from which device.

Potentially something gets lost in translation here; you can probably try inspecting the PS/2 Packets aswell to see what goes wrong
