I’m not sure what I’m seeing, but it looks like SSHD is restarting every couple minutes. After a while, I can no longer log in to the Haiku machine with Putty or FTP (I use port 22 for FTP). Rebooting fixes that, but a couple to a few hours later, it’s no longer connectable again. I attached a screenshot of Terminal. Thanks for any help.
I have the same problem when I use public IP. I see a lot of failed login attempts from bots in /var/log/syslog for a few days and then I’m unable to login unless I restart net_server/sshd. Probably network stack related.
Has anyone opened a bug report?
I don’t think so.
I hesitate to open a bug report at the moment, because the hrev I’m using is older (May 2024). I can’t try the latest beta or hvrevs at this time because the particular software we’re running on Haiku is extremely difficult to install and only works on 32-bit Haiku. But reliable SSH connectivity in general has been a problem since at least 2013, and I believe someone did post about that issue in the bug tracker since then.
Do you have an alternate system, or potentially use virtualization, that you can try to recreate it on a newer nightly or up to date Beta5? There have been tons of network related fixes and improvements.
