Any reason why SoundPlay is missing in HaikuDepot?
Also, will SoundPlay ever be open sourced?
If it’s not open sourced I guess we can’t add it to haikuports? 
I think there use to be a package for it as I have it installed on my older Haiku VMs.
Probably there is still a package around that can be installed, but afaikt no source package
There are some unofficial packages. But HaikuPorts tries to respect the licensing of software, and I don’t think the SoundPlay license allows us to repackage it. Also the latest versions of SoundPlay do not run on Haiku, because they use private APIs of the Media Kit from BeOS that we don’t implement. Only older versions work in Haiku.
TuneTracker maintains their own version of it.
Really it’s time to consider using a replacement app. There is APlayer which is open source and available in HaikuDepot, for example.
Not a fan of APlayer. Would be great if MediaPlayer was up to the task.
