Sound Card But No Sounds from Speaker

I have a Dell Latitude E6540 and it has an Intel HDA card. The card is seen in the multimedia preferences but no sound from speakers or the headphone. Has anyone encountered anything like this before?

i was able to get the HD audio in the lifebook p7230 to work using the OSS driver in HaikuDepot.

Do I have to remove or blacklist the HDA driver first?

Yes, I do and the Open Sound package from Haiku Depot works great!
