(Solved) Icedove: After upgrade, asking to set-up account

Not showing log-in screen. I had not logged out.
Looks like user is removed. What will happen to my old e-mails?

Upgrading is troublesome for these softwares

No problem here with the update, Icedove just works as before.

The new version of Icedove (Thunderbird) creates a directory with a user profile written with a capital letter, older versions created a directory for profiles with a lowercase letter. I made a postinstall script that renames the directory with the profile, but for some reason when updating the postinstall script is not always executed (package manager bug???). So you can find your old profile in /boot/home/config/settings/thunderbird and rename it manually to /boot/home/config/settings/Thunderbird.

The folder that you mentioned is not found. Pl. see the screenshot

Folders are sorted to the top, your screenshot only shows files…

Thankyou diver,3dEyes

There was already a folder with the name Thunderbird.
Deleted it
Renamed the folder thunderbird to Thunderbird
Working fine
