I was updating the QuteBrowser build to 1.14.0 on my desktop, after building a pkg using haikuports. After finishing the installation, I had the following when using SoftwareUpdater.
SoftwareUpdater will try to match the packet version with the HaikuPorts one, basically doing a pkgman full-sync. Locally installed packages will be affected from this.
That does make sense. It would be nice to be able to override the packet version during installation so that it doesn’t attempt to override the newer version, so any locally created packages don’t get rolled back.
If you install them in home/config/packaged, they shouldn’t. But you will have to handle them manually.
