Shutdown freezing

Hello everyone!

I’m using Haiku on a laptop in UEFI mode. I’m having a conflict between power management and system shutdown.

If I set acpi true in my kernel settings file

Battery status work: The PowerStatus applet correctly shows the battery charge and capacity in the Deskbar.

Shutdown fails: When I try to shut down (reboot is working), the system freezes, and I have to use a hard power-off (holding the physical power button).

If I disable ACPI, the shutdown works fine, but I lose the battery indicator entirely.

I Is there any way to have both working battery status and proper ACPI shutdown on a UEFI system?

Yes, on supported hardware.
Did you try with a nightly build? If the bug is also present there, open a ticket on Haiku bug tracker.
Even if some devs are passing by, they are usually quite busy and, on the forum things are buried in a week.
Note that you will have to give a bit more details. For example, what version of Haiku 32 bits or 64 bits and provide at least a copy of the syslog.
