As requested under Suggestion Box http://haiku-os.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22 I made a few season icons.
It’s just a suggestion. Works fine as SVG.

its also not an idea many old-time users Like, at all. it also requires localisation for the north-south hemisphere divide…
Don’t take it too seriously.
I quite like the idea in principle. The problem is leaves are nice, fairly thin horizontal lines, hence the H and the A are easily readable. The other seasons don’t have iconic elements that are the same shape. The winter and summer ones for example just look like someone has needlessly obsured parts of the word.
Also the leaf logo is seasonal as it is. The green leaf is summery, even the way it curves suggests life. The orange one is autumnal, it has started to droop a bit. The yellow one at the end has clearly fallen from the tree, so is a bit wintery. I’d never noticed that before, but the more I think about it, the more I like it.
I think I agree with the previously post.
I’m not sure if the author of the original logo intended to use the horisontal lines in “H” and “A” so I made them without (don’t want to abuse my artistic freedom ).
The original logo is not made with this kind of modifications in mind, although I liked the idea, this is probably not the way to go.
If any kind of seasonal modyfication is to be done, I think it would require a few bigger changes, and I guess that would’nt be too popular amongst the Haiku community( But I wouldn’t mind doing them ).
