I got around to installing R5 x86_64 on my machine, it had an old x86_32 R3 on a separate drive. I have a SB Live sound card installed, which worked on the old R3 install. Media Server crashes at every bootup. I purchased an Audigy 2 card and it’s recognized just like the SB Live card. No Audio output from either. Anyone else have this issue? The card worked under R3.
I have the same audio-card Creative Sound Blaster Live! it does not work after HAIKU Beta 5!
It worked by accident only one time, but since then it does not work, whatever I tried!
I filled a bug report but it got messed up by some other comments and no one working at it right now!
With old BeOs it should work with all versions!
A fix for some soundcard drivers was pushed very recently, 10 days ago or so, including the older ES1370 Soundblaster driver. This has gone to the B5 branch too, so maybe try an update.
I have a ES1370 Esolo Audio-Card which was working with BeOs Pe.
Because it was never working with HAIKU I bought a SoundBlaster Live!
Which worked since Haiku Beta 5…
So, I will try to change the Soundcards and look if the ES1370 is working now!
If a card is working with HAIKU it should keep working!
But hey, we have time!
Well you can try a few nightlies: hrev57101, hrev57114, hrev57704, hrev57705 to find when the regression started.
Never tried to downgrade a hrev…
How to do that?
Tomorrow if I have some time I will try…
EDIT: Better I try with a USB-Stick, is it?
Yes USB Stick.
The link to etcher (Making a Haiku USB Stick | Haiku Project) does not work!
I got it here: Releases · balena-io/etcher · GitHub
Feel free to propose a patch website/content/guides/installing/making_haiku_usb_stick.html at master · haiku/website · GitHub
I tried hrev57101 and it is even worse, media_server_addon is crashing all the time!
Cortex is not showing any Media Add on!
hrev57114 works!
So what else you may need to help?
