perhaps, its pretty messy (at least build system wise), and i must admit to not really having the energy to want to explain to someone just exactly how it works when im probably going to still change quite a bit of stuff about it, so uhhh, woops
well i think your driver reuses some ideas from amdgpu?
i mean, as much as a driver for the same device does, yeah, lol
generally speaking i basically tried to just do what amdgpu does as much as possible, whether thats needed or not, i dont know
Well if this IS the case for me i think ir Will support rx 550 rx 580 and more modern ones. The only problem i can see IS the firmware.
firmware isn’t a issue, the firmware blobs are under a redistributable licence
Well then there is no lo limitation for modern cards like rx580 or even rx 6600!! Teorically!!
well, they do still have quite a few differences, but i guess if thats what you mean? like, i only implemented the stuff for the gcn cards i have, other ones still need different handling and whatnot on top of the firmware blobs
does this mean hardware acceleration is supported?
i mean, this thing can do hardware accel yeah, havent worked on it in a bit due to being side tracked by other things though, although i still do intend to clean it up and perhaps make it a bit more modular so that the driver can be used by other oses/kernels too
