i recently installed Haiku on my 2019 asus laptop but i have no wifi
PCI Devices (ucw.cz)
There isn’t a FreeBSD or OpenBSD driver for this device, I don’t think. OpenBSD started one for some of the more recent Qualcomm hardware, but I don’t think the 9377 is among them.
AFAIK, not supported by any BSD: https://bsd-hardware.info/?id=pci:168c-0042-17aa-0901
Maybe this WIP (from 2022) driver? https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=161652809426307&w=2
so what do i do now?
Get a cheap usb wlan stick like Edimax Technology Co., Ltd EW-7811Un 802.11n Wireless Adapter [Realtek RTL8188CUS] for araound 15 € or so
63 zl might hurt but its the only way to get wifi i guess
The easiest solution, but probably not the only.
If your laptops wifi chip is replacable, you can try replacing it with another one, preferably one by Intel as those are generally supported rather good.
This is the more elegant solution, but unfortunately some laptop manufacturers limit which wifi chips are allowed in the BIOS,so it may not always work.
