Qt port status?

After noticing Qt 5 announced a couple of weeks ago, I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the Qt port for Haiku is still alive? The likes of the Calligra office suite, calibre, Scribus and a recent version of VLC would all be pretty handy.

Yep, still alive.

The update to VLC is blocked due to Haiku not supporting a particular POSIX signal. It’s not related to Qt.

LyX for Haiku

What ever you do, don’t right click in that program.

Why?

makes the program crash for some strange reason.

That’s great that LyX runs on syllable.

Do you know how to install teTex? Because most of the liks fro bebits are dead.
finally i could install tetex, but i didnt find an install script.

of course it does. The link of michael (see a few posts above) works, it’s lyx 2.0.0! I just tried it.
Just teTex must be installed so that lyx can compile the latex code.

BeBits itself is dead. Why the current owner doesn’t bury it is beyond me.

http://ftp.beos.hu/mirrors/bebits.com/Science&Math/Misc/teTeX-2.0.2-BeOS.zip

There is supposed to be an install script in there (can’t test it right now, goofing off at work). I suggest you install beoscompatibility or edit the script first.

BTW that old FTP site is well worth a browse.

You will also need tetex-texmf-2.0.2.tar.gz but that is OS-independent (fonts and such) and we should be able to borrow any copy from any OS. Still gave me a bit of a search:

http://cvsup6.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/teTeX/tetex-texmf-2.0.2.tar.gz

You can also try pulkomandys port of texlive:

http://pulkomandy.lexinfo.fr/~texlive/

It got me some time to get it work, but now it runs fine on alpha3. Follow the instructions, unzip the binaries in the right location, unzip fmtutil.xz and fmtutil-sys.xz seperately in the binaries-directory. Don’t know why he packaged them as compressed files, since you have to decompress them to build the format file for pdflatex.
