Problem with WiFi

Hi,

I’m trying Haiku Live CD (R1/beta2) on an old laptop and I can’t get wifi to work.

My wifi adapter is a Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

Thanks in advance for any help

I fear you will need to install the non-free wifi firmware for this card, Haiku cannot include this in the base install.

Is the Wifi script part of the userguide? Should be.

It should rather be integrated in network preferences. There should be a clear warning about the card there and a button to download and install the firmware if needed.

Thanks, I couldn’t do it within the live CD, but I installed Haiku on my notebook and it works fine.

It should also be possible to have meta-packages, that is packages that only contain the script and run it on install.
It can’t be worse than Canonical using .deb to shove Chromium’s Snap to people who didn’t want it
