Recently, I’m working on Kroean translation in Pootle, but it seems Pootle have little bit problem.
Especially when I completed translatio, but in Pootle says that it’s unfinished. And when I clicked “Need translation” numbers, there’s none because I’ve already did it.
If you don’t have the right privileges, you can only suggest a new translation, but this have to be revised by the language manager, that have to check if it’s correct, matching the localization guidelines etc
@zuMI They took languages in bad shape and both had to step up as translators and language managers, hence the question.
There’s a laps of time between the moment a line is suggested and the same line is validated and count as translated. During this time, apps are indeed appearing like this. Now, the question is How do you validate strings?
That’s not the question here if I read the message correctly.
Indeed if you follow things at Pootle, you can see that the percentage of validated strings for Korean for example has improved, it is now a much more complete translation.
The problem reported here is that the status page says there are more things to translate, but when you click on it, there is actually nothing left.
This is more a problem of database synchronization inside Pootle. I think only @nielx might know what to do about it. Maybe Pootle updates these things only after some time, or maybe there is some corruption in the database that needs to be fixed.
I think, but I’m not sure, that this is related to some lines showing as greyed out. If I remember correctly, that means Pootle is in the process of refreshing some data, and what’s currently displayed may be out of date. But it shouldn’t stay that way for several days.
FWIW, the Pootle Synchronization Status shows Korean translations being saved into the database. The dates suggest this might be done in the course of the weekly im/export.
Let’s have @nielx have a look if he needs to intervene once he tags Korean for the export to nightlies. With 75% translated it’s time for that, well done!
