So sad. :frowning:
We have dogs as well ( 2 girls). Three years ago our Labrador boy passed away after long illness at the age of 10. Much too early. I often remember him.

Modular synth stuff is totally fascinating. The cable salad, however, is nothing for the OCD faint of heart…

Cool machines @davidkaroly and @pvalue. Makes me think of this analogue beast

You can start with one of the emulations, my girlfriend has iMS-20 on her ipad for example. An emulation of a Korg MS-20. Much cheaper than the original, you don’t have to tune it and the cable salad is only virtual

My university offered a class in Electronic Music and I enrolled just for a break from coding classes. They had an old 1970s Moog synthesizer that was really cool (and yes, cables everywhere). I had lots of fun playing with it but never could coax anything resembling music out of it. Turns out you still need to have talent and understanding of music theory?

I have Renoise on my AMD64 Linux box and I’m beginning to wish I knew about realtime filters and more about synthesis than I learned on my Commodore 64. Coaxing chip-tunes out of a synthesizer like a SID chip is way easier than all the filters and modulation out of a beast of a digital audio workstation like Renoise.
