Hi,
Would it be possible to add the mtw driver from OpenBSD to Haiku?
Maybe. It would at least require wrapping OpenBSD’s USB-related routines, and I haven’t looked to see how different those are from FreeBSD’s (probably pretty different, based on what I know of the history of the FreeBSD USB stack.)
But it also appears this driver does not even support 802.11n (the device does but this driver doesn’t), so it will be a pretty slow connection even if it is ported. Maybe best to use something else.
Thank you for the explanation. I forgot the *BSD driver compatibility layers do not support USB devices. Probably better to use something else indeed.
No, the FreeBSD compatibility layer does support USB devices; I implemented that 2 years ago (Feb 2022.) The OpenBSD “shims” layer, existing on top of the FreeBSD layer, doesn’t yet.
Ah, check! Good to know.
