Hi oueshcousin,
I don’t see the advantage to reduce the window on the Desktop. After all that’s the aim of the Deskbar to manage actives windows.
I think the point is, to be able to get to the desktop easily. A sort of “hide all applications please, I have a zip on my desktop that I would like to open” kind of button.
I guess you could say, “well just open tracker and navigate to your desktop folder” but that seems like a roundabout way of doing what one button on the deskbar could achieve.
It’s not a stupid idea by a long chalk, I’d be interested in seeing this debated further.
yeh I kinda like the way Tracker handles them at the moment under the Deskbar …
When I want to see the Desktop quickly, I just switch to an empty workspace. There are loads of them.
Mmm, I love them workspaces.
Workspaces, right click window to send to back, and dragging a file into a file dialog to change to that directory are three features whose lack in Windoze drives me nuts!
Not having a system wide CTRL+CursorKeys jump a word/paragraph is giving me a hard time in BeOS. From day one. That’s over 7 years now… I hope Haku will eventually fix this.
At BeBits you can download an app which adds a replicant to deskbar that you press to hide all apps, if thats relevant.
