I have to confess: I might have used an LLM to write some reciped for HaikuPorts. Not because I adore slop (I loathe it), but because filling form is an appropriate job for a language model.
In the case using LLMs are banned for writing HaikuPorts recipes, consider removing ecode and opensmalltalk_vm from HaikuPorts to make sure HaikuPorts is not tainted by LLM assisted recipes.

Thank you for mentioning, but no worries. There are already more ports in the repo containing LLM code. Same goes for Haiku itself.

I understand the sentiment, but zealotry leads to very awkward situations like this one.

Obviously, I’m against any bans on haikuports, not just those related to LLM. The decision to install a program on their own computer should be up to the user, not you or me. Today we ban publishing programs written with LLM, tomorrow we ban publishing something else that one of the moderators doesn’t like, and then our project will die due to its stupidity, excessive hypocrisy, and prejudice. This is stupid and counterproductive.
I’m against restrictions, and I’m even against labels like “made with LLM.” Are we now going to have second-class software?

I have been informed that some people (on the Telegram group) are complaining about nephele’s moderation decision here. Well, I can tell you that if the other moderators disagreed with this decision, we would have reversed it. (Indeed, even before I made this reply, someone reported nephele’s post, and another moderator besides nephele or myself rejected the report.)
I will add that this is a re-start of a previous topic that had already been closed a few hours earlier. Please don’t do that again. When we close a topic, it’s not to have a very similar one pop up a few minutes after.
