OFFER: Free VisionFive 2 Lite for a RISC-V Developer

Hi,

I’ve bought 3 x VisionFive 2 Lite, 8GB with WiFi and 64GB eMMC’s on the recent Kickstarter, and I’d like to offer one ot two of the boards to Haiku RISC-V developers with the intention of getting Haiku up and running on these boards.

You can keep the board afterwards, I don’t want them back, but I’d like a set of follow along instructions on getting Haiku up and running on the board, and/or an image that will work with them.

If anyone is interested please message me with a link to some of your existing RISC-V PR’s/MR’s/patches to the Haiku code base so I can be sure I’m sending the board to someone who can achieve this.

Thanks,

Andy McCall

Sounds interesting.

You can see the rough list of past patches for risc-v here: Making sure you're not a bot!

Mostly work by kallisti5, x512 and some of waddlesplash

No, I’m not a bot. I’m a life long BeOS user who was very active on the Haiku very early on, before it was even called Haiku. If you search the code for my last name you’ll find it in various places :stuck_out_tongue:

That “you are not a bot” is not by me, it is the anubis anti ai scrapper thing on cgit plus the forum software fetching a “smart” link title instead of just displaying the link, sorry about that.

Ah! Okay - I don’t use the forum too much so I thought you were checking if this was some sort of scam.

Then one should be for @X512 because he knows about that arch.

Happy to send one to @X512! Do you ( @X512 ) want one and have time to work on it?

Thanks!

I already have VisionFive 2 board. It is a bit different variation, but this do not matters.

I’ve got the VF2 board too, but I can’t get Haiku working on it. The instructions are spread about between multiple threads and unclear (to me!).

I know you’re busy, but if you want one and are able to produce a image that can be used for it easily, I’ll happily send you one. I think these will be great little RISC-V devices for Haiku.

I have two rv64 boards and want to help with this effort,
if you have a group/thread to join I’d like to help out.

Having the exact board could help, if you have one after other volunteers have been identified please add me to your list.

Currently have Pine Star64 model A, and HiFive Unmatched rev B.
