No audio output except for screeching, PCI Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1

I just got Haiku installed on a 2nd drive on my main PC and I’m not able to get my sound card working. All I get is an extremely high gain screeching from the output port and no real audio output that I can tell. I’m able to stop the screeching by muting PCM out, at which point I can definitely tell there’s no audio output at all. I’m testing audio output with MediaPlayer and QMPlay2 with flac files. I do get proper audio with my Intel “8 Series/C220 Series Chipset” through the internal case speaker, but nothing from the 3.5mm jack.

The hardware seems to be fully recognized in Haiku, as “EMU10k1 [Sound Blaster Live! Series]”, and it’s even on the supported devices list. The sound card works flawlessly in Linux.

You link is to a very old list for beos hardware.

This is a new one for haiku only. Your soundcard is not listed at the moment.

There are a few known problems with emuxki driver:

This list is for opensound driver. You can install it but you will need to blacklist emuxki driver first.
