Newly ported browser

… and It’s not a crappy old text mode browser either.

I can’t take too much credit. I’ve tried compiling this one before and failed. Then today, the planets were in alignment, my biorhythms were rhythming, and the goat I sacrificed yesterday caught the attention of the gods of cmake. It compiled cleanly on the first try.

What’s missing? History and bookmarks. Also sometimes picture captchas get caught in an infinite loop, but I’ve seen that on other browsers too.

Let me know what you think.

Wait why is it a bad browser

It looks like Google Gemini saw “unknown browser” and threw its toys out of the cot.

Is this one available in HaikuDepot?

It’s not available in HaikuDEpot, I just built it from source.

Downloaded! I’ll see about porting and packaging it

It compiles. Basic functionality is there

But some menu items don’t do much. Or anything. OK They’re the same functionalities that hrbrowser also doesn’t have, but at least that doesn’t tease you with menu items for unimplemented features.

And it exits with a nasty memory leak warning

Worth keeping an eye on, though. I’ll set it up for long-term update notification.

Compile success!

Are these 2 browser projects one-man projects? I think we can show some support on them.

I tend to believe both of these are student projects that are so much part of the github landscape.

Thanks to @dasouth for pointing me to something better:
