New attempt to run Haiku four years later

When I tried beta 3 on my laptop (Lenovo S130-14IGM) four years ago neither the touchpad nor wifi worked. In beta 6 wifi works so I finally got to test Haiku properly. The system is snappy and most things work as expected. Having access to a working version of Firefox is such a gamechanger. Hopefully the graphical mousepointer issues will be resolved to the next release.

Any updates on touchpad compatibility?

Do you know how your touchpad is connected internally?
Is it PS/2, USB or i2c?
PS/2 and USB should work fine in most cases, but the i2c driver still has some issues.
Is your touchpad shown in the Devices application?
If yes,can you share a screenshot where the details about that device are shown?
That may help to identify and hopefully fix the issue.

It seems you have a Elantech i2c touchpad.
For those, there are numerous reports saying they don’t work:

There’s not much you can do currently, but I think there has been some progress on i2c support recently,so maybe it will work in a Nightly version in a few months.
