Ladybird browser development - Status update and Roadmap

Ahoy Haikunauts !

I know, there’s a lot browser available for Haiku, and actually the Webpositive development is progressing …

but, I met with a fresh video on Youtube, where Andreas Kling took a presentation and discussion about Ladybird browser development status, their approach and roadmap for next 3 years , moreover answered questions.

Some year ago it was very popular in the community forum, as it was available among the ported softwares and many of us were interested in any browser. There were 2 developers (@nipos , @3dEyes ) who worked on ports indipendently - if I remember well.

Andreas was happy when he knew that Ladybird of SerenityOS is available on Haiku.

Then he soon went away from SerenityOS development to focus on Ladybird development only.

Now you can know more details from this presentation and discussion about Ladybird browser -

There is something surprising and instructive regarding the Webpositive development (see browser agent!) too.

Is exactly what the Labybird project has to work through.

Thanks for sharing, that is an insightful video.

I was surprised by the fact they got served very different content from websites based on the way they identified themselves in the user agent header. Seems like a challenge to make a standards conforming browser if you don’t get served proper content in the first place.

This way I added my note about it in my post as well -
