What Haiku-specific file formats do you have in mind?
Cross-application file format support with apps like:
- Artpaint
- WonderBrush
- Icon Editor
This is probably best left for Haiku’s conversion tools versus more add-ons.

Can see ArtPaint and WonderBrush formats making sense for Krita, but not IOM and HVIF. Those two would make more sense for Karbon, which is KDE’s vector editor. I mean, Krita can also do vectors but it leans more towards bitmap editing.
It would be interesting if there was a cross-platform HVIF/IOM editor though, especially one made in Qt. But that’s a discussion for another topic.
Anyway, there are KDE subprojects like Krita are open to receiving Haiku-specific patches. However, some of them are hesitant to do so until there’s CI/CD set up for Haiku. KDE Invent uses GitLab CI/CD. IDK what Haiku uses, except for HaikuPorts (GitHub Actions).

WonderBrush is also a vector editor.
In theory WonderBrush has a kind of qt compatibility layer in it’s tree, but I’ve not seen that worl.
It’s not just the vector-bitmap difference. Krita’s UI and featureset are overkill for editing icons. Karbon is better suited for this.
