I’ve finally got the JC Reborn screensaver working rather well.. no more crashes. I ported over the JC Reborn screensaver to Haiku. It needs the Johnny Castaway resources that can be found on the internet specifically RESOURCE.001 and RESOURCE.MAP. Anyone want to test and give me feedback? Will try today in the evening (if it is not too hot ![]()
Ahoy @christech
Sorry, but it is not in the good Category,
as for install it needs 2 proprietary files - that noone provide.
I found many “open source” version of this screensaver, but at all Github pages these proprietary game map files were enlisted as not included.
This way I do not think it was really open source project as this screensaver does not work without these proprietary files and all developers saves their ass from Sierra/Dinamyx legal steps if they would.
I gave up on try it out !
Webarchive usually is the chest that preserves these gems, otherwise destined for oblivion

Well, OK, and I searched such files in the Web archive, not actually, I do not want to be seen as hypocrat to not downloaded any files which were already earlier for fee, and meanwhile may come obsolete – they still have proprietary right on him.
Thank you to have me reminded, I could have those files there.
It is just about that – seems those files officially not made public or in any way free to get it – if you can accept that as an explanation to my post above. So, I mean a bit turned down my playful mood after I faced with legal carefullness stuff.
I had a gratis version on a magazine cd way back, so i have legally purchased it, probably still have the cdrom, not gonna search for it in the hundreds. I see it as abandonware, but strictly speaking you need to have purchased it
