It might be me? Error with many things in depot

I have just installed Haiku Beta 5 in a virtual machine. When I try to install software from Haiku Depot I get:
Nothing provides haiku >= r1~beta5_hrev 57937_111-1 needed by 2pow-1.2.2-1

I get similar messages trying to install other things from Haiku Depot too.

Please try installing updates before you attempt to install new packages.
While the Beta releases don’t change much after being published,they do receive minor patches and bugfixes,and newly built packages require those patched versions (essentially at least the version that the build server is running)

Is that in Haiku Depo, “Check for Updates…” under the Haiku Depo menu?

That update failed and returned a dialog box with lots of “prevent unpacked from using —” or “Nothing provides…” vs. “ignore this for now”

After choosing not to ignore all of them and continuing the update then it failed again. It’s a brand new install. But I guess that is beta software.

Thanks for your help. : ^ )

But of what version? The error message sounds to me like you are on beta4 (or some earlier version even.)

Its not. Use the System Updater application instead.

It seems that Haiku repo is not available.
Open Repositories app and check URL for Haiku repo. Also check if it is activated.
Then use SoftwareUpdater, it will say what repo is refreshed before opening package view.
