  solution 1:
    - keep qt5-5.15.16-2 from excluded repository
  solution 2:
    - allow deinstallation of qupzilla-1.8.9-10
    - allow deinstallation of smtube-18.11.0-1
    - allow deinstallation of dooble-2025.07.18-1
    - allow deinstallation of libksane-23.08.5-1
    - allow deinstallation of smplayer-25.6.0-1
    - allow deinstallation of kross-5.115.0-1
    - allow deinstallation of kolourpaint-24.02.2-1

kross: Embedding of scripting into applications

Kross is a scripting bridge to embed scripting functionality into an application. It supports QtScript as a scripting interpreter backend.

So Qupzilla crashed, as the affected version of library package no more among the activated packages, as there is a newer one.

I can uninstall

- β†’ Qupzilla (I just kept it)

and

- β†’ Dooble (same reason - long time not used)

from this list, also not needed so much the

- β†’ subtitlecomposer package anymore …

But

- β†’ Kolourpaint is a must for me !.. ← fortunately seems it is working !

and I need an updated/working

- β†’ SMplayer ← SMPlayer does not launch to a working app window !

and seems

- β†’ kross package needed to embed scripts into Qt applications.

What is the plan to fix SMPlayer application and kross – with updated packages ?

Won’t use Github to report issues - before anyone would suggest ! :))

I recently saw the commit in the link below happen on HaikuPorts that appears to be related to the issue you are having as it bumped the version of Qt5 and removed qtscript. Looks like it has caused some issues with existing packages that still need qtscript going by what you are experiencing.

Thank you for the reply !

:cowboy_hat_face:

qt5_script should be available again on x86_64.

Allthough on buildmaster this seems to have been build, the package isn’t found with pkgman, nor is it listed on the depot server website.

EDIT, this is because it requires lib:libQt5Core$secondaryArchSuffix == $portVersion which in this case isn’t available as the base Qt5 package (new) hasn’t been able to build on 32bit buildmaster (yet).

Well, finally I’ve seen SMPlayer sits on the shelf, so I could restore the player β€œwindow”.

I attempted to play an Audio CD - that’s why important for me - as this player played only the Audio CD without ripping and had a direct read to play the CD I liked for.

Now I get error message, something went wrong and an offer I can see the log (here you are), there is, if I open it.

I tried to downgrade one version. it had the same result. Unfortunately I trust in upgrades - not fully as I keep the statuses - but enough that not check the ALL applications works expected, after an upgrade.

I do not know how much I should downgrade - now I just downgraded 2 packages

pkgman install /boot/system/packages/administrative/state_2025-04-26_21:49:48/qt5-5.15.16-1-x86_64.hpkg

pkgman install /boot/system/packages/administrative/state_2025-04-26_21:49:48/qthaikuplugins-5.15.2.36-2-x86_64.hpkg

It was not enough to fix this :.(.

It is Haiku x86_64, hrev59820.

EDIT :

SMPlayer downgrade – package smplayer-25.6.0-1 to 22.7.0-2 from local file – did the trick finally, so I restored Qt Haiku/Qt5 related packages I downgraded - those had not related this issue.
