Issue with Abaddon app

Hello! I’m new here and wanted to try dailydrive this OS. Anyway…

I’ve found app called “Abaddon”, kind of Discord fork for a Haiku. Discord app is really important for me to use, and I’ve been trying to use Web version of that in Iceweasel, but no luck with performance. So, when trying to open that app, it gives an error that sounds like: "Impossible to open “Abaddon” (missing libraries: libspdlog.so.1.12).

Anyone has any ideas how to fix that? Or maybe there’s any possible ways to install OG Discord app here? Thanks for any future help!

Could be that spdlog has been updated and broke Abaddon, should check that (strange it’s not mentioned in the reports from buildmasters where those thing mostly pop up). Will get back to you on that (not a Discord user, but can’t stand loose ends).

Ok, I’ll be waiting!

Begasus is right, we have now spdlog 1.15. Meantime, you could try to make a symlink…

Unfortunately I’m too new to this system. If that’s possible, could you tell how that works, please?

32bit version is already rebuild on the buildmaster, for 64bit there was an error with undefined references (my guess is it used the wrong libfmt packages), if things work out fine it should be available in a short while.

Thanks again, waiting for the update in that case!

Build completed on 64bit now, can you update and check? (PS on how it should work I’m clueless, so can’t help out there)

Ok, updated and it started right now! Will try to login.

hello,
At the moment one problem with Abaddon is that it relies on miniaudio for audio input.
As far as I know, miniaudio does not support Haiku and expanding it is pretty difficult. (It is one giant 3.82 MB c header file with ~100000 lines. Miniaudio also just does not work on PPC or x86_32). I’ve tried getting it to work but gave up on it in the end. It might be possible to swap out miniaudio for another audio backend, I might have a look at that.

Howdy! Well, it’s not an issue for missing audio, the fact that Discord works - is great already by itself! But I’m sure you’ll be able to fix that issue and find a way to do so. Thank you for that great app anyway. : )
