Hello. I recently tried booting Haiku on a PC (Intel Skylake generation). It failed with the following panic message and I didn’t find existing threads about this particular one.
It’s not important for you but, it can be for someone else. So, better open a ticket on Haiku bug tracker when you encounter things like that. The forum can be quite active, here it’d buried in two weeks or less. You will also have to be more complete, about the version tested (architecture, revision) and about the PC.
Yes sorry I forgot. This is simply the Beta 5 version and is running on an Intel i8250U processor computer with 8GB RAM. The panic happens when trying to boot to the USB drive holding the Haiku.
Also sorry for the bad photo quality as it was taken at night. It reads: “PANIC tried to add page table beyond the identity mapped 8 MB region.”
I’d be happy to file a bug report but I seem unable to create an account there, so you can try filing on my behalf.
Just to clarify: this is a link to the nightly images. Before going to report a bug, you should check the latest one, in case the issue is already resolved there (in which case there’s no need for a bureport).
