Yesterday,
I built a (non-touchscreen) ‘tablet’ with my raspberry pi,
using most of the parts from my pi’s previous home.
This was my first raspberry pi project, and I’m very proud of it.
Congrats on the build! It’s been a while since I’ve messed with a Raspberry Pi, I wonder if it has enough power to emulate Haiku inside qemu well?
Hmm… it is a 8GB raspi 4b, so the CPUs are at 1.8 GHZ
respect for that. Is haiku running on it too?
I’m starting up a VM, it is still booting.
EDIT: Taking a bit of a long time on the rocket.
EDIT: Added more memory to the VM, working now.
EDIT: I tried, it is very slow.
Aw darn, thanks for trying it to see how it worked!
Any ideas for what DE I should use?
I want something that is minimal and doesn’t get in the way, but doesn’t have much of a learning curve.(I spend most of my time in textmode, but a have to start x for web browsing, etc)
I am currently using WindowMaker.
My personal choice would be icewm, it is simple and doesn’t get in the way. I use it with the oktan theme, but I’m sure you can find (or make) a theme toat pleases you (the default ones are not great)
Using icewm now, works fine.
