How To Install Vim

I have just installed Haiku (in Oct 2024), and am completely new to Haiku (never used BeOS).

What are the preferred ways of installing vim? (e.g. it doesn’t show up in HaikuDepot if I search for vim).

It is in HaikuDepot,see https://depot.haiku-os.org/#!/pkg/vim/haikuports/haikuports_x86_64/9/1/0/-/1/x86_64?bcguid=bc148-NOYX
If it doesn’t show up for you in the application,make sure that you’re in the “All packages” tab.
Alternatively,you can use the Terminal: pkgman install vim

Thanks. Nice it was answered so quickly. Eventually after googling around and finding stuff from years back, I eventually found pkgman. So vim is running.
