How to install softwares in Haiku and boot loader

Hi ,

I want to try Haiku on my spare computer . How do I install software in it does it have its own boot loader . How to dual boot it with xp and Debian Linux .

thanks

Your best bet is to download the .ISO file from the Get Haiku page and burn it to CD with Nero (or the likes). It is a live-cd so you can try it out before you install it.

You can also download a much newer versions of Haiku called the Nightly Images. These however are mostly untested, but come with new features. If you are to use a Nightly, go to haiku-files.org to find the download links and be sure to carefully read the recommendations that are given.

Normal software can be downloaded with the installoptionalpackage command or can be downloaded from Haikuware.com .

Haiku uses bootman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootman), but if you are using GRUB or the likes then you can add Haiku to that.
