How do I edit the Add-on menu?

How can I edit the Add-on menu that pops up when I right click on the desktop? I want to add Emacs to it.

David

You can put other Tracker add-ons into /boot/system/non-packaged/add-ons/Tracker/. I don’t know if Emacs has a Tracker add-on though. I’d expect Emacs to appear in the “Open with…” menu.

There are some third-party tools to expand add-on menu, ZooKeeper (GitHub - HaikuArchives/ZooKeeper: ZooKeeper is a glue application (or frontend) that lets you specify a shell command or script to be executed on a set of files.) and TrackRunner (GitHub - augiedoggie/TrackRunner: A Tracker addon for Haiku which runs commands on selected files)

I pushed a small Emacs wrapper application to github which is set to handle text files. This can be set as the default handler and allows opening files from the Tracker Open with... menu. It’s a work-in-progress but it’s usable.
